Musician | Artist

D Kruger (born 07 August 1977) is a South African born artist, musician, composer, author and producer, living and working in London. He has been involved in a broad range of musical and creative projects, releasing over two hundred songs and over 20 albums during his musical career to date. He is best known as the founder and lead vocalist for Descendants of Cain, a gothic rock project but has since gained popularity through his many and varied musical and written projects.

D’s passion for music began at an early age, and he trained under John Tongay of the Drakensberg Boys Choir, and International star of stage and screen Eve Boswell. Under her tutelage D performed in a range of shows, including for the Prime Minister of New Zealand at the Durban City Hall. At the age of 14 he started his first gothic metal band Arcanos with Conrad van Rooyen and Phillipa Moore.

After immigrating to the United Kingdom in March 1999 to pursue music, Descendants of Cain (DoC) was formed with Philippa Moore and Iain Smith. The band toured the UK 2002.

In 2003, the live project disbanded, and D moved the project into a studio setting, continuing as the principal song writer and producer. In 2007 the project was signed to Echozone BOB-Media.

Since then, DoC has worked with many world class musicians including Ashley Deyour from Whispers In The Shadow and the gothic legend, Wayne Hussey of The Mission.

D has achieved two world number one songs in the Global Gothic Charts, for his collaboration with Wayne Hussey as well as his track Defiance from the album Conversations With Mirrors.

Doc has gone on to produce a total of fourteen albums to date.

Beyond Descendants of Cain, D has created five other musical projects which included the highly acclaimed The Pressure Cell, the futuristic Solar Wave Machine, the enigmatic Storms For Epiphany and most recently the Nox Krugerian project.

Last but not least we have D’s largest project to date!

In 2024 we saw the completion of the second draft of D’s first novel and cinematic soundtrack collection The 2100 Series. This science fiction book consists of three stories (two of which are full length novels) and the original cinematic soundtracks for each story, which consists of four and a half hours of music. The 2100 is currently in it’s sixth year of development and nears its conclusion.

Playing drums, bass, guitar, piano and keyboards, D still considers himself to be a simple singer and songwriter. His musical interests transcend genres, as his musical projects reflect.

As an artist, he has created almost all of the project/album artwork himself over the years, with only four albums having collaborators.

Anti AI

D is also a moderator for the artist’s group Artists Against Generative AI (145K membership) and vehemently opposes the use of Generative AI to replace real human artists, as well as the wholesale plagiarism of their work by these unethical and morally bankrupt corporations, who produce these pointless images and audio. All of it is made from the scraping of other artist’s work without consent nor compensation.
